Objectives: The intended result of this activity is increased knowledge/competence, and upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Know the difference between memory change from normal aging and memory loss due to dementia and Alzheimer disease
  • Know how to recognize common types and causes of dementia and community resources available for our patients and families, along with the latest diagnostic tests and treatments for the disease and difficult behaviors
  • Know the type of research that is currently being conducted at the Washington University Knight Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) and consider partnering with us to eliminate this disease

Target Audience: This course is designed for Geriatricians, family and emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals who encounter geriatric patients in a health care setting.
