Objectives: The intended result of this activity is increased knowledge/competence, and upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Explain the benefits and risks of statin use in diabetes.
  • Compare specific treatment modalities that decrease vascular complications in diabetes.
  • Interpret the relationship between cholesterol intake and lipid metabolism.
  • List risks and benefits of aspirin in diabetes.
  • Analyze different fish oil preparations and their potential use in diabetes
